South Asia related projects recommended for EC funding under the second deadline of the Third Call for Proposals (September 2004 deadline):

• EU’s Asia-Link programme was launched in 2002. 30 projects have been recommended for funding under the second deadline of the Third Call for Proposals (September 2004 deadline). Out of these 30 projecs five include South Asian partners.
With these 30 projects, the total number of Asia-Link partnership projects selected for funding has now risen to 126, involving a total of 550 higher education institutions, and € 36.6 million of EC funding.

Creation of basis for educational and research networking between Europe and Nepal through the initial collaboration in lighting and energy technology development

Partner institutions: Helsinki University of Technology (FI); Vilnius University (LT); Kathmandu University (NP). 36 months

Human Resource Development in Law and Economics for India and Europe

Partner institutions: University of Hamburg, Institute for Law and Economics (DE); University of Hyderabad (IN); University of Ghent, Law School (BE); Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IN); National Law School of India University, Bangalore (IN), 36 months

Innovation management and technology transfer; developing a new joint masters programme (IMTT)

Partner institutions: University of Central England (UK); Dalian Maritime University (CN); Wyzsza szkola humanistyczno (PL); Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IN). 30 months
