Marc KatzThe Working Group ”India, its People and Traditions” at the University of Duisburg-Essen invites to an intensive-bloc seminar in Essen, Germany, 19–20 October 2007.

• Primary Teacher Susanne Theußen, Alpen/Niederrhein, Germany

Venue: Haus Evang. Studierendengemeinde, Universitätsstr. 19, Essen.

Entrance, for the whole seminar or partially,  € 3.

Programme:

Friday 19th October:

16.00 – 18.30: Opening – introduction of the reader. 1st session among others with Prof Katz and his film 'Banaras Muharram and the Coals of Karbala'
20.00 – 20.30: Seminar 2nd session. Exercise – co-operative interpretation of Indian texts
20.30 – 21.00: Seminar 3rd session. Evaluation with examples from the exhibition

Saturday 20 October:

09.30 – 12.00: Seminar 4th session with Prof Katz and his film 'Tulsidas and the Fire of the Veda'
                         Seminar 5th session. Hindu religion – a topic in primary education, with primary teacher Susanne Theußen
13.20 – 15.00: Seminar 6th session with Prof Katz and his film 'Holi Hey: A Festival of Love, Color, and Life'
15.00 – 16.00: Seminar 7th session. Evaluation and conclusion with participants, lecturers and working group.
