SWEDISH SOUTH ASIAN STUDIES NETWORK

International Relations Seminar at Stockholm University:

A new seminar dealing with International Relations issues was formed at Stockholm University in the Spring 2003. The purpose of the seminar is to serve as an interdisciplinary forum for discussions, cooperation and interchange of ideas between researchers and research departments in the Stockholm area. Host is the Section of International Relations at Dept of Economic History.
The seminar will be organized as a meeting-point for different cooperation networks engaged in research and education in International Relations. A network dealing with South Asian studies has already been established. Other IR-oriented researchers focused on, for example, security policy and globalisation aspects are also invited to attend the seminars.

Themes for the seminar: presentations of research papers, guest lectures, discussion on cooperation projects etc.
The first meeting took place on March 24, 2003, when Jan af Geijerstam from the Dept of History of Science and Technology (KTH) presented an outline of his forthcoming thesis, which deals with technology transfer within the iron industry from Sweden to India in the 1860´s.

More seminars were planned.
