Academic Journals on South Asia, not available on the Internet:
Note that when individual universities around
the World subscribe for the paper copy of an academic magazine for
its libraries it is sometimes possible for students and researchers
at this university to get access to full articles also from the Internet
edition.
Building on two centuries' experience, Taylor
& Francis has grown rapidly over the last two decades to
become a leading international academic publisher. With offices
in London, Brighton, Basingstoke, and Abingdon in the UK, Stockholm
and Oslo on mainland Europe, New York and Philadelphia in the USA,
Singapore and India, the Group publishes more than 700 journals
and around 1,800 new books each year. The leading book published
RoutledgeCurzon is also part of the group. More
information on RoutledgeCurzon.
Taylor & Francis Group presently publishes two academic journals
on South Asia, South Asian Popular Culture,
and Contemporary South Asia. A third
South Asia related journal, South Asia: Journal
of South Asian Studies, will soon be introduced. They are
only available for subscribers (in print or online), but for every
issue generally one article is published as a sample on the Internet.
Details below:
Another Taylor & Francis journal, Asian
Ethnicity, also includes articles on South Asia even though
the focus is on East and South-East Asia.

South Asia: Journal of South Asian Studies has been
published since 1971 by the South Asian Studies Association of Australia
(SASA), based at the University of New England, Armidale, Australia,
and the publishing has only recently been taken over by Carfax.
South Asian History and Culture, launched in 2010, offers a forum that will provide an integrated perspective on the field at large. The journal aims to bring together research on South Asia in the humanities and social sciences, and to provide scholars with a platform covering, but not restricted to, their particular fields of interest and specialization. Such an approach is critical to any expanding field of study, for the development of more informed and broader perspectives, and of more overarching theoretical conceptions.
