Tamil Language Summer School at the French Institute of Pondicherry:

A Tamil Language Summer School will be organised from 15 July to 26 August, 2002, in the Department of Social Sciences at the the French Institute of Pondicherry, India.
As the previous years (it will be the 5th year), the stress of the TSS is on spoken Tamil rather than on the classical and written forms taught in European Universities. It is open in priority for human and social scientists or students. Different levels of spoken Tamil courses could be offered: Basic (for fresh beginners), Intermediate and advanced level (for at least one year of the study of written Tamil). All the teachers are native Tamil Nadu. Special training for the practise of spoken tamil in fieldwork will be provided as well as lectures about the tamil society.
Interested students are welcome to send applications for participating in the Tamil Summer school 2002. A brochure TSS 2002 will be published with all necessary details inside.
